What is a Mission Builder?
Mission Builders are people who have never done a Discipleship Training School but are interested in giving their time and skills to what God is doing through YWAM and specifically Holmsted Manor. Mission Builders can serve for as short as one week to as long as 90 days. You will be placed in a team, working along-side long term staff. You will live and work in a cross-cultural environment working with people from many different nations, ages and walks of life.
Where would you serve?
Holmsted Manor is an old Victorian family home and we truly operate as a family; living, working, dining and serving together. We run Discipleship Training Schools and other courses year round. We also facilitate many ministries in and through Holmsted Manor. So any time of the year you are available to serve we are available to receive you.
Our desire at YWAM Holmsted Manor is to connect Christians globally with front-line missions. If you have a heart for missions — and especially Youth With A Mission — come join our short-term volunteer program called Mission Builders.
Mission Builders have played a major role in making the Holmsted Manor what it is today. They serve in many ways, maintenance, especially qualified carpenters, plumbers, and electricians (UK qualifications); groundskeeping/horticulture; and professional experience in areas such as food services and housekeeping. Many wonderful volunteers come year after year because they’ve found it’s a challenging and spiritually refreshing experience — and a great way to make new friends from around the world. Volunteers work 40 hours per week, and in exchange, room and board are free.
Youth With A Mission is a missionary organization whose goal is to know God and to make Him known. Our desire is that our lifestyle—living, learning and working together will support this goal. Our standards do not permit smoking, drug abuse or sexual immorality. We trust you’ll experience a combination of godliness and naturalness that will be refreshing. We want you to understand beforehand what is expected of those who come to serve with us. By our love for one another and our way of life we hope to project a Christian testimony both at Holmsted Manor and in the local area.
We recommend that you speak English on a conversational level. You will need to be able to understand work instructions, and connect with others in community life. We are unable to offer English-language support.
We endeavour to process applications as quickly as possible, but we require all of your documentation to be complete before we can start to consider your application.
Youth With a Mission has a long tradition of working with children, young people, families and vulnerable adults. As a multigenerational community, we take seriously our responsibility to protect and safeguard the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults throughout their association with us. Application screening for all our trainees, volunteers and staff may include a police check/UK Criminal Records Bureau Disclosures.
