What's the process?

How many references do I need and who should they be?

We will ask you for the names and contact details of three people who would be willing to write a reference for your application. This helps us to get a better idea of who you are. Please ensure that these three people know you well, have known you at least two years, and are not related to you. We will contact them directly.  Generally we ask for a reference from a Church Leader, a Teacher/Employer and a Mature Christian Friend.

How long will it take to complete the application form?

You probably need about an hour to complete the form.

What happens after I complete the application form?

After applying, expect to receive a confirmation email from our personnel team who will guide you along the process and contact your references. Once we have received your references, a police or background check (we will send you details on how to do this) and you have answered a few questions about your present state of health, we may invite you to do a video or phone interview with one of the leaders of YWAM Holmsted Manor. If the leadership  is happy with your application,  we will then formally accept you to volunteer  with us.

Who should I contact if I have questions?

If you have any questions at all about volunteering at Holmsted  Manor or the application process, please do not hesitate to contact us as personnel@holmsted.org.uk. We try to answer all emails within 48 hours (excluding weekends) so it won't be long until you've heard back from us!

Is there anything else I need to know?

For the application, there are several pieces of information it would be helpful for you to have on hand at the time such as your passport, contact details your three referees and a breakdown of your finances and/or support raising plan. There is a section in the middle of the application that asks you to reflect on your faith journey and your reason for applying to volunteer it may be helpful to be thinking about that even now!
